Marilyn Allis

Marilyn Allis is a water colour artist working in a loose & impressionistic style, using strong vibrant colours capturing movement, and the energy of a scene. Working mainly in water colour, but also acrylic inks & mixed media.

Popular TV artist and overall winner of ‘Artist of the Year’ 1999, with the SAA. She has featured on ‘Fraser & Friends’, ‘A Splash of Paint’ and other teaching programs. She was also a contestant in channel 4’s Water Colour Challenge series.

Author of 3 books including the best seller ‘People aren’t Scary, really’, other titles include ‘Animals on the Loose’ and ‘Painting Dorset in water colour’. plus many DVD’s

As well as running her own workshops in her beautiful studio on a working farm, in her county of birth Dorset, she also demonstrates and teaches for art groups thoughout the UK and Europe, and on cruise ships. She has been a regular tutor at the ‘All about Art’ in Islington, London and currently teaching at the SAA headquarters.
