Alicia Aradilla
Alicia Aradilla is a 29-year-old Spanish artist who dreamed about travelling the world and see other cultures while sketching her experiences. After getting tired of dreaming, she decided to realise her dreams and quit her graphic desgin job at Samsung. Then she went on a one-year journey with her partner Sergio, a journalist and photographer. So both of them took a long break from their careers to travel throughout Europe and Asia.
Alicia travelled to a total amount of 19 countries and filled 13 sketchbooks with more than 700 illustrations. After the journey she grew a lot on a personal level because of the cultures she discovered in every country and the people she met there. Alicia also had to go through extreme situations which took her out of the comfort zone – another factor that made her personality grow. On an artistical level, she developed her abilities by practicing so much every single day and in all kinds of different places. By comparing the first drawing oft he journey to the last one, she concludes that it is possible to learn a lot just by doing!
