Paint Venice in Watercolour!

02.06.2019 - 09.06.2019 Venice | Colin Joyce painting, watercolor, watercolour, history , culture, basics 1975 GBP

Painting with Colin around different locations in Venice for 6 days. Colin know's Venice as well as his painting palette! There will be lots of demonstrations by Colin and one-to-one tuition. It is entirely up to you if you want to jump in and out of painting, or you can take advantage of ‘sightseeing’ at your leisure. We paint away from the busy tourist locations, but everywhere is a painting location in Venice.

You are of course welcome to site see as much as you want. For non painters, your hostess Seraphina Moody Seraphina Moody's Website will be there and happy to share photography tips and go out on photography trips with you.

This week is perfect if you want to come with a non-painting partner as there is so much for them to see and do in Venice whilst you are out and about painting and they can join you with a big discount. You are spoilt for choice in this romantic, historic city. All the pleasure, quality tutoring and congenial company you’ve come to expect from Arte Umbria but this time it will be in this beauteous location. Places are limited so early booking is advised.

Transport:

Included in the price is a collection and return from Marco Polo airport and transportation by water taxi (arrival only - the best way to arrive in Venice) to our hotel, a Vaporetto (water bus) ticket for the week that will take you everywhere in Venice and to all the islands as well, and your Alilaguna ticket to take you back to the airport for your return.

Accommodation:

We are so fortunate to be able to offer a delightful bijou, privately-run, 3 * hotel on the Lido which is exclusively for our use during the week.

The hotel (just a 2 minute walk from the Vaporetto/Taxi stop) is a mere 10 minute trip on a Vaporetto to St. Mark’s Square. Marco the manager is looking forward to our return and he and his staff will make sure we have everything we need.

Fantastic breakfast and Marco's team make sure we are well looked after. The hotel has a lovely Art Deco feel, a pretty garden where we can enjoy our aperitifs and nibbles after a long day painting or sightseeing, and an observation turret with amazing views over the Lido to St. Mark’s Square with wonderful dawn to dusk panoramas and sunsets. We think some of you may find that an inspiring vista. Perfect!

The hotel is a jewel entirely surrounded by high palm trees. Converted to a hotel in 1950 and carefully renovated in 2002, the hotel still retains some of the original furniture, including precious Murano glass chandeliers and wall lamps. A very generous buffet breakfast (hot and cold) to suit all tastes,is served in a room with classic Venetian style furniture in shades of celestial blue and ivory.

All bedrooms have double beds (which can all be converted to twin for friends sharing), en-suite facilities and air conditioning, SKY television and mini bar (mini bar at your own cost). Each room has an internet link via ADSL. 3 rooms have balconies which come with a supplement of £50 so early booking is advised if you want one of these.

We have taken over the whole delightful hotel for this week for our use.
