La Palma

La Palma is the northwesternmost island of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, about 100 km west of Morocco. Its landscape is characterized by its volcanic origin and over 100 volcano summits cover the whole island. The last eruption took place in 1971, which, just like the six other eruptions in the last 500 years, did not include bigger explosions but only slowly flowing lava. But it is not only the volcanic rocks that make La Palma as beautiful as it is. Laurel forests cover the island and its unspoiled beaches are surrounded by azure blue water.
