Umbria

Each region of Italy has either a coastline or a border to other countries - except one: The region of Umbria. It is located in the heart of Italy and borders solely to the regions of Tuscany, Marche and Lazio. The landscape of Umbria is hilly and one third of the land is even covered with mountains, the highest peak being the Cima del Redentore at 2446 meters. Besides, the river Tiber runs through the land, leaving fertile ground behind. Except for its two biggest towns, the capital Perugia and the city of Terni, Umbria contains rather small communities, where the Italian spirits and traditions are maintained. So altogether, Umbria provides perfect opportunities for beautiful paintings and photography in „bella Italia“.
