Korcula

According to legend, the island of Korcula was founded by the Trojan hero Antenor in the 12th century BC. What is definitely true, is that it lies at the Adriatic Coast of Croatia and is sometimes also called „The Green Island“ - you will soon notice where that name comes from. The biggest towns are the eponymous town of Korcula, Vela Luka and Blato with many buildings in Roman architectural style. By the way, there is another great myth around Korcula, which says that is it Marco Polo’s birthplace… You can even visit his birth house, but that is not to be taken as a historically verified fact - which does not mean, that it is not worth a visit anyway!
